HTC Launches New Diamond Variant - S740

HTC -Bring Out Diamond..!!!!!
After the HTC TOUCH DIAMOND and the HTC TOUCH PRO which is merely an extension of the former with a QWERTY keypad, the company has now announced the introduction of the HTC S740. This handset appears to be another variation of the form factor of the Touch Pro. The difference is that the S740 has been designed to offer users the comfort of a touch screen, the normal 12-key phone design and a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

"Demand for high-performance, smart, mobile devices continue to see strong growth globally and HTC is well positioned to meet the varying needs of our diverse customer base," said Dr. Florian Seiche, Vice President of HTC Europe. "The HTC S740 combines a powerful, premium phone with a full slide-out keypad in a compact and sleek form factor. Clearly, one size does not fit all and the S740 will play an important role in expanding our growing portfolio of devices."The S740 has a 2.4 inch QVGA display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and 65k colors (not a touch screen). With regards to connectivity it supports 3G with HSDPA speeds, Wi-Fi, EDGE/GPRS, Bluetooth with an A2DP profile and of course USB v2.0. Memory can be extended using microSD cards. It also has integrated GPS with A-GPS support using Google maps and a 3.2MP camera (non auto-focus). The S740 runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. The same reports also state that the Treo Pro comes equipped with a 320 x 320 pixel touch screen, built in GPS (seems like that’s becoming a pre-requisite) and comes preloaded with Adobe Reader and Telnav. It has 256MB ROM and 128MB RAM.

Nokia To Launch N96 In India Today

Nokia feels India First
for It's New Launch..!!

Nokia is launching its N96 in Delhi today a few days before the iPhone 3G is launched here in India. The N96 was initially set to launch first in the UK on the 1st of October. But Nokia seems to have changed their plans and are launching it here first.
The timing is so wickedly correct. Even as we wait for the iPhone, Nokia is dropping this fully loaded beauty into our laps and I estimate the price to be somewhere in the vicinity of Rs. 36,000.The quandary about what phone to buy just got bigger and more complicated with these two behemoths launching so close together. The Indian market is truly getting to be the biggest mobile market on the planet and personally, being spoilt for choice, we have no complaints whatsoever.

In short...35K for 16 GB asame as iPhone,2.8LCD screen bigger than iPhone, expandable to 24GB, Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 Operating System, 5MP camera with flash and video lights at 30 frames/sec, can play flash video, high-speed USB 2.0 connection, WLAN and HSDPA, built-in 3D stereo, phone supports Nokia Maps application which offers maps with urban details and satellite views and has upgrade options such as City Guides, turn-by-turn pedestrian mode and voice-guided car navigation, This is not iPhone competitor it is iPhone killer...hahahah

Stay Tuned For MOre.

I-Teq X-Bond

T.V on Go...

In built TV
Stereo Bluetooth Headset provided
TV recording
Pocket Flight software provided
Plenty of AV converters included

No reception on the go
Camera is not so good

I bet we’ve often wondered, what’s the next step for the mobile phone industry? Now that phones are out to replace cameras, portable music players, PDAs and data storage devices, what will they attack next? It’s true that the new phone we’ve had a chance to review may not be the only one to have such a feature, but it’s the closest to us in terms of availability. I mean, it’s something you can actually go out and buy, and not just dribble over pictures on the web. So let’s see what a company called i-teq has in store for us.

All you TV lovers rejoice. Break out the trumpets to announce the arrival of a mobile phone slash TV. That’s right boys and girls, a mobile phone with which you can watch television. Sounds great, right? But before you start making plans to watch your 'saas-bahu' and Bollywood movies on the go, there is 1 catch - it’s only the free to air channels like Doordarshan. So is this worth your money? Let’s find out.

Design
I like the design of the X-Bond. It’s simple and uncomplicated as Windows mobiles with touch screens go. A wee bit on the bulky and heavy side, but that can be forgiven when you consider the fact that you’re carrying a portable LCD TV in your hand! It does seem to have a professional look about it. Its 2.4-inch, 216K color touch screen LCD is quite vibrant and clear, but not too clear in the sunlight however.

The stylus pops out from the bottom like the i-mate K-JAM. Don’t worry, though, it has a sort of a locking mechanism that prevents it from falling out. Even so, with the experience of the K-JAM perhaps, i-teq has been kind enough to include a spare stylus with the box. On the left side of the phone you’ll find the camera key and a roll dial, for the camera’s zoom function (which wasn’t easy to figure out). At the bottom is the USB cable slot for data transfer as well as to connect the adapter for charging. On the right hand side, we have a hot-swap slot for a miniSD card and the headphones / antenna slot. That’s right; this phone comes with an antenna!

The front of the device has quite a few buttons. There is your call answer and end keys, a 5 way navigation pad that could be used for controlling volume or skipping tracks or videos. There’s also a dedicated Windows key for opening the "Start" menu. Aside from that there are 2 other keys that can be used to associate with anything you need quick access to.

On the rear you’ll find the 2.0 megapixel camera with a flash and speaker phone, which proves to be quite clear if you’re having a conversation, but not too loud if you’re trying to watch TV or listen to music.

Motorola Unveils Three New ROKRs

Moto RockrSsss...!!!!
Motorola has decided to expand its ROKR portfolio with the introduction of three new music-optimized devices. The lineup includes MOTOROKR EM30 - a candybar phone using Motorola’s ModeShift technology; ROKR EM28 - a clamshell device with sonic features and touch-sensitive keys and ROKR EM25 - a slider with FM radio capabilities.
ROKR EM30
The ROKR EM30 uses Motorola’s ModeShift technology to illuminate the keyboard - red keys illuminate in music mode and a blue keypad appears in phone mode. The integrated FM radio also comes with RDS.
It also has a 3.5mm stereo headset jack provides and the player is with Windows Media Player 11 for music downloads and other features. Essentially the handset is a newer and more colorful version of the ROKR E8.

Other features included in the EM30 are Stereo Bluetooth support as well as support for GPRS/EDGE, Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology, microSD memory support and a 2MP camera.

ROKR EM28
The ROKR EM28 is a clamshell phone. Its design allows users to control their music using touch-sensitive keys that appear only when they’re needed. The front of the phone shows the name of the artist and song so users won’t have to open the handset just like the RAZR2 V8. The music player also features 3D sound effects and an audio equalizer that provides 11 pre-set music genres, including rock, reggae and pop for optimal listening. Consumers also can boost the bass up to nine decibels.
The handset also comes with a 3.5mm earphone socket, FM with RDS and broadcast recording as well as an innovative FMShare feature that allows users to share FM stations by sending a text message with the details. The EM28 ROKR also supports GPRS/EDGE, CrystalTalk, comes equipped with a 1.3 mega pixel camera and a 1.8-inch 65K color TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels.

ROKR EM25
The ROKR EM25 is a slider phone. It features an FM radio with RDS and FMShare and SongID technology to identify a song, much like MusicID or Sony Ericsson's TrackID feature. Like the other handsets this one too has a 3.5mm earphone socket, Bluetooth with an A2DP profile, microSD card support and CrystalTalk technology. The EM25 comes with a 1.3MP camera.

The ROKR EM30 is expected to launch first in Taiwan then in other markets throughout the quarter, while the ROKR EM28 and EM25 will be available later this quarter around the globe.

Fashion Houses Go Mobile

Fashion & Mobiles
Here’s my question to you, dear reader: do you think it’s a bit ridiculous the way every industry seems to want to cash in on the mobile phone market? Vehicle manufactures have already gotten a taste of this market with handsets like the Porsche P9521 or the Hummer mobile Fly. Even watchmakers are getting a piece of the action – witness Tag Heuer’s Meridiist. What could be next? Oh yes, the fashion industry... how could I forget?Fashion phones are nothing new, but I’m not referring to those mobiles manufactured by companies like Nokia or Sony Ericsson that simply look flashy and stylish, I’m talking about actual Fashion Houses launching mobiles with their personal brand. So here are some of the big names in fashion that have launched their own brands of fashion-centric mobile handsets.

The LG Prada could have been considered an iKiller, but it doesn’t really have too many exceptional features that make it stand out as a sincere contender. The 3-inch touchscreen display has a 240 x 400 pixel resolution and 256K colors. It doesn’t support 3G or have Wi-Fi, but it does support Bluetooth with an A2DP profile, USB connectivity (v2.0) and WAP/GPRS /EDGE.

The Prada comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera with flash and offers video recording too. Other features include external memory support via microSD, and a media player for audio and video content. There's an integrated FM radio. An MS document viewer allows you to download and read .TXT, .DOC, .XLS, .PDF and .PPT files. The Prada also has a few preloaded games for entertainment, but it's all still too little. Maybe they should throw in the model as well?

Another would-be iKiller is the Samsung Giorgio Armani mobile phone. Designed in collaboration with the famous fashion designer, the Samsung Armani is a rather stylish looking handset, but of course that goes without saying. This slim and sleek touchscreen handset comes with a 240 x 320 pixel, 2.6-inch touchscreen display.

The Armani is a GSM handset that supports EDGE and GPRS for Internet connectivity, and Stereo Bluetooth and USB v2.0 for other connectivity. The handset has a 3.2 MP autofocus camera with video recording feature. Other features include an MS document viewer and a media player for music and videos. The Armani’s memory can be expanded using microSD cards.

Nokia To Launch a New Flip Phone

Flip On Nokia...

This GSM handset is equipped with an internal display of 2 inches with 256K colors and it also has an external 1.36-inch display that also features 265k colors. It features a large analog clock as a screensaver. The 3640 fold comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera and 30MB of internal memory with microSD card support as well. Other features will include a media player for audio and video, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The handset will also support GPRS/EDGE.
According to reports, the handset should start shipping anytime soon and is priced at approximately Rs. 7,910 (125 Euro) before taxes and subsidies.

Nokia E90 Communicator

!!!Daddy Communicator!!!
Great build quality
Sturdy
Fully functional front display
Large and clear internal display
No TV out
2.5mm earphone socket
Sound quality from provided earphones is bad
No business card reader
Camera quality is not too great

Enter, the Big Daddy of all phones! The E90 may look like and perhaps feel like any other communicator, but is it really? The answer is a resounding NO! The previous models, although still quite popular in many arenas has nothing on this baby. With a combination of elegance, style and a sturdy demeanor, the new addition to the business i.e. "E" class of Nokia phones has promised to overshadow its predecessors. But whether or not it can actually live up to that is what we’re here to find out. So let's get to it.

Form Factor

Although the design is quite like any Communicators of yore, this one has a few upgrades. For example this is the first to have a fully functional ‘External Phone’ with a 16million color display and a resolution of 240x320 pixels. The reason I refer to it as an ‘External Phone’ is simply because it pretty much looks like any other Nokia phone inside some sort of shell. Whatever a normal S60 phone can do, the outer phone can do as well. No exceptions this time. This may also be the first time Nokia has placed the power switch on the side of the screen rather than on top.

The rear houses the 3.2 megapixel, Auto-Focus camera with a flash and the speakers. At the very bottom you'll notice a little flap, which is where the microSD card can be inserted. All you have to do is slide it open and insert the card. The bottom is where you’ll find the mini USB (2.0), charger pin and a 2.5mm earphone socket. What’s most noticeable are the two steel hinges. This is another factor that sets the E90 apart from the previous models. The steel hinges make the phone a lot sturdier and add a certain rugged appeal to it. On the side are 2 keys. The one on the top is a dedicated voice recorder key, and the one at the bottom just below the infrared sensor, is the shutter release key for the camera. However, it's not a dedicated key to activate it which is quite odd.

Flip it open and this is where all the magic happens. The large internal screen is what this phone is all about with a crystal clear resolution of 800x352 pixels and 16 million colors. On the sides of this fabulous screen are 2 pairs of keys. On the right just underneath the secondary camera is a set of call take and end keys and on the other side of the screen is a set of soft keys. But I don’t like the positioning too much as they’re a bit too far from the nav-pad, so you end up having to adjust your hold every now and again when selecting options.

The Full QWERTY keypad makes the E90 look like a miniaturized laptop. At the very top of the keypad Nokia has graciously provided us with direct shortcut keys to various functions and one key to call your own (Open key). There’s also a separate key to switch on the keypad light when it's dark and on the other side of the keypad is a five way Nave-Pad. So that’s it for the design of this big boy. Let's see what he’s capable of doing.

New 8MP SE Cybershot Info Leaked

Future 8Mp Cybershots!!!

It looks like the newest Sony Ericsson Cybershot camera phone is making the scene, though not officially. And from the information that's going around, here's what we know so far – The C905 - as it's being called is a GPS enabled handset. Of course being a Cybershot would mean having a high end camera so why not throw in Geotagging to spice it up a bit. And let's not forget why this handset WILL be a big deal when it's official - the C905 comes equipped with an 8MP camera. It'll have a Xenon and normal flash as well for video.

Some of the other specs include a TV Out port, an accelerometer for auto screen rotation, (let’s not hope they’ve stuck to just the media screen this time, though I have my doubts), external memory support through M2 cards and apparently Wi-Fi connectivity as well. The C905 could also have Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA), which is a protocol that runs on top of Wi-Fi that will enhance the sharing of various media.

The handset will come with a 2.4-inch scratch-resistant TFT display made of mineral glass and will have a pixel resolution of 240 x 320 (QVGA) with 262K colors. This quad-band handset will also support HSDPA speeds. Let's hope that the real deal sticks to these specs plus, I wouldn't complain a bit if it had more to offer.

Top Trends

Top Trends In Mobiles...!

In today’s techno-crazy world, fashion doesn’t just imply the clothes you wear and the accessories you use. In fact, these days fashion accessories come with technology incorporated into them – witness the popularity of Bluetooth-enabled headsets or wristwatches. More importantly, it’s the mobile phone that's increasingly making a statement as a fashion accessory, so here’s a list of handsets that I'd rate as the top five fashion phones available today.

HTC Touch Diamond - Rs 26,500

This is one of the more expensive phones in this segment but that’s only because it has more than just snazzy functionality. The Diamond runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 but the interface is unlike anything I’ve seen before – and believe me, it’s something the iPhone should be cringing about. It’s a lively interface with plenty of features, and the best part is you won’t really need to use the stylus that often.

The Touch Diamond comes with a 3.2MP auto-focus camera, 4GB of internal memory, a large 2.8 inch display with a 480 x 640 pixel resolution. It supports Wi-Fi, 3G with HSDPA speeds, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth with A2DP, and an internal GPS module with A-GPS support. It also comes with an integrated FM radio with RDS. Apart from being chock-full of features, it looks good.

Samsung U900 Soul - Rs 20,585
The Soul, as it’s more popularly known, is a slider that incorporates a touch-sensitive navigation system. Its OLED touch-sensitive pad uses icons to depict various options that can be used with the various features selected. The Soul is very slim, and its 2.2-inch display features a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. The handset is 3G-enabled with HSDPA and supports EDGE/GPRS. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth with A2DP and USB v2.0.

The 5MP camera it comes with has an auto-focus lens. It incorporates image stabilization technology and comes with a flash. If you’re a stickler for personalization you can make your own themes with the preloaded Samsung theme creator. It also has a media player and FM radio with RDS, and supports external memory with microSD cards. It's the sleek, slim and metallic design, however, that gets it into our list.

Motorola RAZR V8 - Rs 12,500 (2GB), Rs 24,500 (Gold Edition)

I doubt I’ll see too many people arguing why I’ve included the RAZR V8 in this list. To say it’s "cutting edge" (pun intended) may be a bit of an exaggeration, but that doesn’t mean it’s without some commendable features. For instance, it has a 2-inch, 240 x 320 pixel display on the front panel with Haptic keys located just beneath for the music player. Its main display boasts the same resolution, and is 2.2 inches in size.

The RAZR V8 supports Bluetooth with A2DP, EDGE/GPRS, and uses microUSB for PC connectivity. This handset, like the 7900 Crystal Prism, doesn’t support external memory. It's available in different models that come with 512MB and 2GB of internal memory. As with the Soul, it’s the sleek design that makes it a perfect candidate for this list.

Nokia E71

Good build quality
GPS works great
All media works without a hitch
Tweaked interface is a bonus
Plenty of business functionality
Camera quality is bad

Here Cums 1more in E-gang

Access to product upgrades are one of the perks of being in the tech industry. If you've come across a great product, you can't wait to see what the company’s going to come up with next. For instance, Nokia's E61 and then the E62 made Symbian a force to reckon with in the business world, and the upgraded and slimmer E61i with a 2MP camera took it a step further. And now the E71 is here. This time Nokia's gone beyond a step – it's a big leap, in fact.

Form Factor
The design is superb. The E71 seems to be a culmination of elegance, style, and class, with functionality kept utmost in mind. I think its steel shell gives it a macho look and feel. The display may be a little smaller than the E61i at 2.36 inches, but on the whole the E71’s specs are way better. The QWERTY keypad looks rather compressed, however, and will take a bit of getting used to. But the five-way nav-pad and relevant shortcut keys are located for easy accessibility. The prominent bottom portion of the handset kind of reminded me of Jay Leno’s chin.

The E71 is just 10mm thin and weighs 127g. This might seem a bit heavy, but it actually works in the handset's favor. The weight makes it feel solid and secure in your palm, and also imparts a sense of balance. The microSD card slot and USB port are located on one side, just beneath the infrared lens. On the other side you’ll find the volume/zoom keys and a dedicated key for the voice recorder. The 2.5mm earphone socket is located above these.

What surprised me the most is the lack of a dedicated camera key. Considering that the E71 has a 3.2MP autofocus camera (with LED flash) it's odd there’s no soft-touch key that allows you to focus, or so I thought. I realized – quite by chance, I must add – that you can autofocus using the the 'T' key located just under nav-pad, and then use the center key of the nav-pad to release the shutter and capture the image. It’s ridiculous... you won't know any of this till you actually read the manual – and how many of us bother to do that?
