First Mobile Phone With Projector Makes an Appearance

Mobile tat Projects..!!!!
I’ve been looking forward to 'seeing' what the first mobile phone with an integrated projector would be like ever since I first heard about this technology being in the works. Personally I didn’t expect it to be out so soon, but I'm not complaining. The handset in question is called the Epoq EGP-PP01. This Tri-band GSM handset has the capability of projecting images as large as 30 inches (diagonal). The resolution of the projector is 640 x 480 pixels. Not only can it project images that are on the phone but DVD players or other media devices (including Laptops) with TV out features can be hooked up to the handset.
The handset comes with a 2.4-inch TFT-LCD with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. It supports GPRS and WAP, has a 1.3MP camera, supports Bluetooth with A2DP and USB and has a sound recorder. From the looks of the images floating around it seems like the handset runs on a UI similar to Apple’s iPhone. The Epoq EGP-PP01 is priced at $549.95 on GadgetCraver. Perhaps it’ll make it here too. When... is of course the big question.

Take it from a daily commuter. Quite literally it seems every second person on the train is playing some game or other, both high-end and entry-level handsets taken into account. Now Spice has launched its X1 gaming mobile in the Indian market, and this could stir things up for the avid mobile gamer. Don’t expect the games to be too high-end or flashy, but the old 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System game ROMs will give users a very nostalgic feeling, or a blast from the past if you will. But here’s the whole story...

Form Factor
Spice’s X-1 is a very stylish looking handset, at least from the front. The rather odd speaker mesh on the rear under the 2 MP
camera lens is not very attractive. A 2.4 inch display makes it quite convenient for the purpose it was designed for. It has a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. The five way Nav-Pd is useful, but the keypad could have been better. The ‘2’ key, located just below the Nav-Pad, is a bit difficult to use while messaging, so words with an ‘a, b or c’ can be an issue. The shortcut keys to the browser and game section come in handy.

The handset has volume keys, dedicated camera key, and the proprietary slot for the USB, charger and gaming console connector located on one side. Three dedicated music keys are on the opposite side, above the hot-swap microSD card slot. To make certain games more accessible without the gaming console, Spice has added a couple of action keys near the front speaker. (A similar design exists in the N81 as well.)

The gaming console has a holder for the handset that can be adjusted from the rear to fit the phone. But try not to make it sit in too tight, or the buttons on the handset won't work. The gaming console is designed to look and feel like just like any other console gaming console. Not as sophisticated as Sony’s or the XBox, but rather like in the old 16-bit game consoles. It hooks up the handset via a cable that fits into a 2.5mm socket at the bottom of the pad, and the other end goes into the propriety slot of the handset.

MOTOZINE ZN5 Launches in India

MOTOZINE ZN5 in India!!!
Motorola and KODAK's MOTOZINE ZS5
camera phone has finally made it to the Indian market. Sony Ericsson's Cyber-Shot series has got more competition now. With features that include Motorola's "ModeShift Technology" and KODAK's "Imaging Technology" this camera could just give the other mobiles in this segment a run for their pixels.

The ZN5 comes with a Xenon flash. It has a 2.4-inch TFT display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and 256k colors. With regard to connectivity the handset supports Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth with A2DP and USB v2.0. Memory can be expanded via microSD cards. It comes with a TV out feature and a 3.5mm earphone socket. The handset also features Motorola's CrystalTalk technology.

Consumers can experience a totally customized Indian experience on their ZN5. They can stay updated with news on their mobile phones with access to the WAP version of printed publications including Financial Express, Indian Express, and Deccan Chronicle via the ‘Daily News’ link in the ZN5. Motorola designers have specially designed

wallpapers inspired by India and its people, traditions and fine arts.
Consumers can download more wallpapers from
MOTOMUSIC, that as a combined service on the web and WAP, allows co
nsumers to download full songs, ring tones, music video clips and wallpapers to both their PC and mobile at the same time. In addition, three cricket games by Krish Cricket have been preloaded on the ZN5, along with live cricket scorecards, ball-by-ball commentary, live match simulations, Series schedules and news.

Xperia Launch Seems to be Back on Track

Xperia Be Xperienced soon..!!!

It’s getting to be quite a pain keeping track of the Xperia X1's launch. From the beginning of this year, to anytime in the fourth quarter, to December, or Jan of ’09, it’s been speculation after speculation.
The same reports that earlier mentioned a possible delay in the launch have new information (that was also seemingly backed by Reuters) that the Xperia X1 will be back on schedule and we can expect it sometime in the next month or two at the latest.

Quite frankly, I breathed a sigh of relief as I don’t think I can wait any longer to test it. Hopefully Sony Ericsson will show Tech2 another grand gesture and give us a pre-launch pro
totype to test.

Stay tuned for a possible preview.

The Samsung P520 Armani, styled by Giorgio Armani.

The Samsung P520 Armani, styled by Giorgio Armani.
Is it all style, or does it have substance as well...

Samsung Giorgio Armani Phone There are two types of people who will spend almost $600 on a phone. There are those who want an Apple iPhone, a piece of hardware that works like a desktop PC and is styled like a flying car from the future. Then, there are those who want their phone to say Giorgio Armani, just like their clothes and their furniture. The Samsung P520 Armani phone isn't an utter failure, but it definitely stresses form over function. The polished interface and sleek design sits atop hardware that can't keep up and the feature set belies some design flaws that make the most advanced functions difficult to use. For the style conscious, this phone might seem like a fleeting accessory, but for the technorati, the high price doesn't make this the best of the best. Release: December 2007. Price: $580.
Pros: Very stylish design. Calls sounded good. Synchronizes with Outlook contacts and calendar. Did we mention it's Armani?
Cons: Classic case of style over function. Screen is not responsive enough. Doesn't work on U.S. 3G networks. Low-quality camera.
